One Eye, Two Eye, Three Eye....

Four Eyes! Yep, that's right. Not one, not two, not three but FOUR of the five of us will be wearing glasses shortly!

Samuel is joining the ranks of the Glasses Club over here. He and Missy had check-ups today. Samuel was so timid and so not looking forward to having his eyes dilated. B and I felt really bad because we laughed (we thought with him) when the dr told him to open wide and he opened his mouth instead of his eyes. And next thing you know his face crumpled up in tears and he was SO embarrassed:( The Dr says it happens all the time...

Anyways, we mentioned that he's been having a lot of headaches lately after school, most of which we thought were due to not drinking enough. After lots of checking with a million different eye doctory gadgets, we were told that our guy has to get reading glasses. He is a somewhat farsighted but also is having a focus issue like Eliana is. The only difference (besides the fact that hers is a million times worse) is she focuses TOO much which causes her eye issues (accomodative esotropia) where is Samuel is not focusing well close-up (unaccomodative something or other).

He takes after his mama with his smaller boned face and there were very few small enough frames to fit his face. We finally found a good shape and he picked the color blue! They won't come in for a couple of months so he'll be waiting anxiously for them.

He was so thrown off by the eye dilation and the fact that everything was blurry, that we ended up keeping him home the rest of the day. Hopefully he'll be able to sleep off the headache that he got from distorted vision and wake up back to normal tomorrow!

Eliana got re-checked with her glasses today. There is still a slight turn in her eye especially when looking at things close up or when she's extra tired but the difference with glasses on is truly amazing. She will be having visits every 3 months for awhile as they keep an eye on her (No pun intended~haha!) and her prescription will slowly be increased over the next 1 1/2-2 years until it stops progressing.

She did far less screaming today which was nice! I warned the Dr that she would probably cry and the Dr nodded knowingly and said, "Oh, I read her notes already from last time." Wow, her reputation has proceeded her. Isn't that so nice?!

Throw in some grocery shopping this afternoon and it was a FULL day. I am so glad it's almost bedtime!

I'm going to put my own glasses on and curl up with a good book:)

I'm glad to hear E's glasses are making a difference. I'm sure S will notice a huge difference once he gets his, too. But that stinks you have to take E back to the dr so often!!
