Firsts

Samuel got to do something very special for the first time this weekend! Can you guess where he went?

His first professional baseball game!! A friend of Ben's gets good tickets through his work and, knowing the Reds are Ben's favorite team, offered to take him to the Reds vs Cubs game. Unfortunately, his friend couldn't make it last minute and so Samuel got to go!

He was nervous at first about taking the trains there and what it was going to be like. Ben said he was pretty quiet, just soaking in everything around him. The noises, the people, the action....
He may have been quiet during the game but he had A LOT to say once they got back home!!! He had a blast. He got to spend special time with Daddy and see his new favorite sport "live." It was a really special day for the two of them:) Of course, it would've been better if the Reds had won.....
And on the way home they got to sit in the first train car and see the engineer. Definitely something worth bragging about to poor little brother.....
And yesterday we went to a new park for the first time! There is a very cute little park close to our home we accidentally discovered when driving by a couple of weeks ago. We finally made it over there yesterday and found trains to play in, seesaws, slides and a very good view of the real freight train:)
Now that he is 6 whole years old, he decided that he's old enough to climb up higher than ever before.....Zakkai decided to stay on safer ground:)

And this sweet Muffin-Cake had a good time just hanging out with us. She was veeeerrrryyy sleepy, as she had spent most of the afternoon fighting her nap. But I had a good secret weapon with me, as you shall see in a minute....

And this is to show you that you are never too old to enjoy time on the swings! Kids keep you young....:)

It started out as a swinging lesson and quickly turned into daddy having fun! Once we broke Ben away from the swings, we continued our walk through the neighborhood stopping to browse through an Antique shop (which I am definitely going back to W/O children someday:) and then to walk by the school and time how long it will take to walk from school to home.

And as we walked, my secret weapon worked its magic....

It was a nice weekend!

I guess if the Reds are going to lose, it is good to lose to the Cubby's. At least then you know that Grandma is happy! :)

Well Ben and S I'm sorry that your Reds lost but for a very sad year for my Cubbies I guess any win is good. Any way isn't it fun to be at Wrigley field. When we win the croud sings such a catchy toon. Love it.
