Fireman Freakout.

Oh, man. It was so hard to turn off the boys' brains tonight. It is fire safety month, as you may know, and the boys have been having fire drills and fire safety assemblies and things like that at school. So, when I was at the library for storytime yesterday and I saw a whole display of fire books out, I thought to grab a couple for my little fire expert, Zakkai.

And then I had the brilliant idea to read one of them with the boys at bedtime tonight. Good move, Mama, good move. It was such a simple book with safety precautions to take and what to do if there is a fire. Freaked the boys out and next thing you know, it took me almost 30 extra minutes just to calm them down enough to get into bed and go to sleep!

It didn't help that Mr Imagination himself was like, "What if I wake up and the end of my bed is on fire?" or "If there's a fire, I'm going to run out the front door and through the parking lot to the train tracks." Oh my. Someone save us!!

I've learned my lesson.

It's a bird, it's a plane...no, it's Cheerio Woman!

The boys were wearing boxes the other day, pretending the boxes were their fire trucks and of course, Missy had to have one, too!

Silly Girl. Tonight, I started the bathwater and was putting away some of Eliana's clothes while she running back and forth from messing up my piles to giggling with the boys in their room. I saw Z go and get into the bathtub and just as I was done, I hear her cry and I hear, "Mommy, you'd better come quick!"

I run in the bathroom and there is Eliana standing in the bathtub, fully clothed, crying. She had run in to check on Zakkai and dipped her hand in the water and fell in headfirst!! Scared me to death! I stripped her down in the bathtub and took off her diaper, without realizing that she had pooped.

Poop in the bathtub. Evacuate the children, drain the water, scrub and disinfect, fill it up again, bathe 3 children and then calm the boys down from pre-fire freakout.

Not one of my best bedtime nights!!:) Hoping my last couple of hours are a little calmer...

That is scary - about E falling in the tub. Thank goodness not every night is like that. She looks so cute in her Cheerio wardrobe.
