The Wheels on the Bus

 Go Round and Round!

It was report card day today:) Samuel is doing fantastic in school! His teacher is very pleased with him and said that his writing skills are better than a lot of first graders:) It always feels good to know that your hard work as a parent is paying off. Samuel has learned SO much since school started this year.

He is currently learning how to tell time and wants me to buy him a clock:) Just hope we can find a good place for him next year!

Zakkai, instead of a report card, got to do his spring student-parent conference and show us lots of things that he can do! He recited "Hey, Diddle Diddle" for us and did the story "Three Billy Goats Gruff" on the felt board (I can't even tell you how cute it was!!), showed us his journal which has adorable pictures of our family in it (and lots of ghosts, too....:) and then he got to show us the infamous school bus!



He had to "count parts" and picked a card from a bin that said to count the windows.

 So he went around every side of the bus and counted, "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10...
 "11,12,13,14,15,16,17,20, (insert me, helping him get back on track:), 18,19, 22..("20, Zakkai")
 "23,24,25,26,27,28,29....26!!!!" He was so proud and so adorable that it was hard to correct him for a minute but I did:)
And then he pretended to drive, although he wasn't happy that there was no steering wheel:) Isn't this a great bus??!!! He has worked SO hard on it, painting lugnuts (bottle caps) and making mirrors (foil), painting the yellow sides, lights (cup lids and paint), etc...He is going to be incredibly sad when they have to tear this down and will probably ask me if we can take it home:)

Tempting but....

So proud of how great our boys are doing in school and so thankful we get to experience a little of what they are doing each day at school!!!

How cute is this bus - and with Z and S with it!! It is so nice to be able to "share" this with them. Maybe you could take it home and put it on the front porch :)
